I just looked round the garden and my wife also took the tour of the castle. I enjoyed the garden, but my wife wasn't very impressed with the interior of the castle. The staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout the area.

What a lovely surprise.. You are met at the entrance by Nancy who knew the Queen Mother, her grandfather looked after her Majesty farm which passed to her father and now her sons, she has many stories to tell you.. We were surprised to find...More

I have visited Castle of May several times and what fascinates me about it is that is really just a 1950's family home on a rather grander scale than most. Rather like the Queen's tupperwear breakfast containers the whole tour of the Castle shows how...More

Today we drove up to visit The Castle and Gardens of Mey. We were taken on a guided tour, and enjoyed every second of it. This is a home, warm in it's welcome. Full of the things that the Queen Mother held close to her...More

An absolute must see for any fan of the royal family. Left exactly as it was when she last visited in 2001; the castle tells a story of the many inhabitants over the years, but most importantly it reveals a lot about the private life...More

The castle and grounds were very nice and give one a new perspective on the Queen Mother. The tour was very well thought out and the staff were very helpful. Very well maintained and the animals were interesting.

A beautiful place with interesting artefacts in the Castle, and lovely gardens, well worth a visit. Bought some rhubarb and it was delicious.

We drove up from Glasgow and stayed at the Hotel Melvich in Thurso (you can see my review on this). It was about 32 miles away and took 50 minutes. From Perth it is about 250 miles and will take a little under 5 hours to... More
