Water doesn't get much more mysterious than this 23 mile stretch running through the Great Glen in the Highlands of Scotland. There's no better way to experience Loch Ness than by boat. Jacobite's award winning tours and cruises get you onto the water and into the heart of this iconic landscape. This is a whole lot more than simply sight-seeing. We've been running trips on and around Loch Ness for over 30 years and most of us live here.

I went on this tour with my girlfriend and it was an absolutely amazing experience..if you are in Inverness you have to go for it and what made it even better was that we had a great guide..his name is Allan and he made everything so interesting..you could just tell that he was so proud about his home town..

I started out the trip on a bus and the driver, Alan was wonderful! He was very knowledgeable of history and the surrounding areas. Our boat cruise was great! Remember to dress warmly (or in layers) so you can enjoy the cruise on the top of the boat. The day I went was misty and overcast but it lent beautifully... More

Loch Ness always looks beautiful in one way or another and if anything the misty conditions certainly add to the mystique of this incredible location! Layers are always recommended as there is no such thing as the wrong weather in Scotland, simply the wrong clothing. Allan is a great guide who is incredibly passionate about the area and is fantastic... More

We booked the Discovery cruise online and arrived a bit early. Unfortunately at the pickup location there isn't much in the way of reception, barely even a bathroom. However the ship was quite nice and I enjoyed a Nessie ale before we set off down the canal. The purser gave a talk as we sailed down the canal and into... More

My husband and I did the 2 hour tour of the Loch and Urquhart Castle. First, I highly recommend dressing warmly or, at least, in layers as the weather can be quite brisk (even in summer I'm told). The audio during the boat ride was full of interesting facts. The quick ride to Urquhart Castle is followed by an hour,... More

I agree, a variety of clothing is always recommended no matter the time of year! the phrase "4 seasons in one day" is often used and sometimes it feels more like 4 seasons in the space of 10 minutes and then that just plays on shuffle for the rest of the day! The scenery is superb, you can see why... More

We visited cruse , you must try beautiful ride of 1 hr and visiting calidonian canal ride is great experience . Captain gives very detail information about everything ,what's history behind what ever exist. You should carry enough worm cloths n jackets. Very windy!

A variety of clothing is always recommended, even in Summer time! The weather can change so quickly around here that the phrase "no such thing as the wrong weather, simply the wrong clothing" is frequently used! We did the Sensations tour, 30 minutes on the loch, then an hour at Urquart Castle, and a run through the Loch Ness Visitor Centre. Cruising the loch in light mists was just fantastic, very calm with just a touch of the mystical. The castle was amazing, enough that I would have wished for a bit more time really. Great... More

The bus driver on our tour was very interesting and friendly. The boat trip across the Loch was very nice with everything you would need on board. The Urquhart Castle ruins were very interesting. It was snowing on us in late April but when the sun came out it was very nice. The Loch Ness Exhibit was okay. I was... More

We booked this trip from Canada and pleased to say we got what we paid for. The host was both knowledgeable and entertaining. He didn't just focus on the Loch Ness monster. The cruise boat was clean, had all amenities and overall it was a great way to spend a view hours away from our hectic holiday schedule.

The Loch Ness monster phenomenon is incredible yet there is far more to this magnificent area! Glad you enjoyed your cruise in comfort and were able to find a few hours to relax. It's always a fine line between fitting in plenty of attractions and activities yet finding the time to relax too! Thanks for the wonderful review. More

We had a wonderful time on the Loch Ness tour by Jacobite. Our bus driver, Alan, was knowledgable, interesting, and funny. He made the trip to and from the boat a real highlight. When on the boat try the hot chocolate with a drop of whiskey - it's amazing!! The boat ride to the castle has spectacular views. The castle... More

Allan is a great asset to the company, a fantastic guide and wonderful host! He's incredibly passionate about the area and Scotland generally. Delighted you enjoyed the on board facilities, the Famous Grouse blend whisky with Hot Chocolate is unsurprisingly a popular seller!
