Our hotel had view of the river. There are nice pedestrian bridges across and lovely walking along the water. The lighting along sparkles off the water making evening walks very nice.

Walked across bridges to appreciate the beauty and serenity of River Ness, lots of photo ops.

Weather can change very quickly, one minute it was Sunny
The next minute , rainy.

Be warned.

A beautiful river right in the centre of Inverness.

Well marked paths for you to follow to get a great walk, with many bridges, allowing you to walk as far or little as you want.
Very relaxing atmosphere walking by the river.

Lovely views of the Castle, Cathedral and Inverness itself.

Plenty of places along the route to stop off for a coffee or bite to eat.

We walked from the Inverness Botanical Gardens back to the town centre along the paths on the banks of the River Ness. This is the end of the Great Glen Way Walk. The paths are paved and well maintained. Watching the river flow towards the sea was very peaceful.

This river is a feather in the city's landscape. The blue dark water, the promenade along the banks and of course the weather added to the pleasure of visiting this place

The River Ness was very fast flowing and wide. We could not find any boat trips and there is only so much time you can spend looking at a river.

Walking along both sides of the river and its various bridges gives you a great visual of the centre of Inverness.

Love Inverness along the River Ness. Did our own walking tours and would return in a heartbeat! A friendly, clean, easy city to walk with great restaurants, bars, etc. Did I say "friendly"? Did I emphasize "clean"? Much smaller and more hospitable than Glasgow. We loved our trip to the Highlands and plan to return.
