Many people believe that this brooding lake in Northern Scotland, 21 square miles in size at an average depth of 800 feet, could certainly hide a large dinosaur-like "monster," the lake's long-time and elusive resident.

It took a very long time to reach the destination from Edinburgh but it was 110% worth it. The view was absolutely breathtaking and we took many pictures. However, we didn't manage to spot Nessie :( but it was all good. A DEFINITE MUST!

Great lakeside drive with some spectacular views. Extremely windy day - Pitied those on the lake cruises. Urquhart Castle is a must see attraction on the loch. Highly recommended.

I was worried that it would continue to rain, but the weather changes quickly. A few minutes of hard rainfall followed by an hour of sunshine is the type of weather one wants. Unfortunately, we did not encounter "Nessie." Maybe next time! The natural lush environment is breath taking. Each time I took a breath of the Highlands crisp air... More

Weather just passing through or staying near by Loch Ness offers stunning views! If driving it has many places to stop and take photos and admire the views. Can be busy during the summer but the stunning scenery will not disappoint at any time of year! If you have time there is a back road you can take from fort... More

The trip to Loch Ness was very long but the guide made it interesting with fables and history. We took the boat trip into the lake which was very enjoyable. It was very chilly and windy so its important to be warm enough. Loved the scenery.

One of the most beautiful pieces of nature I've seen. During my week long holiday I've been around the entire loch and come rain, snow or sun there was beautiful and breathtaking scenery to be had. I've taken some fantastic photos and made some brilliant memories which will stay with me for the rest of my life. No monster unfortunately.

My boyfriend and I drove the length of Loch Ness and enjoyed the scenery. However the drive does get a bit repetitive. Was surprised at the lack of cafes on the waters edge and wasn't really anywhere obvious to stop for a walk. We liked Loch Ness but enjoyed the more wild lochs more.

If you have a free day being somewhere in Scotland don't hesitate and visit this legendary lake in the north of Scotland. Firstly, just stop in Fort Augustus where you will see the beginning of the mistery lake. Then just drive around, stop by Urquhart castle. And don't forget your camera because the view is amazing. And maybe you'll be... More

After stopping by Glen Coe we traveled to Loch Ness. What a great place. The last of the 4 linked lakes by man made locks. Lot of history for the building of the locks. We boarded the boat and headed for Urquhart Castle and to see where John Cobb tried to set the World Record for speed. Unfortunately he crashed... More

Beautiful place one side of the loch is very busy the side with the castle on and there were several accidents there according to the woman in the tourist information. We also drove up the quieter side and there wete plenty of places to nessie watch with a picnic while dabbling your toes in.
