Culture is at the very heart of Perth and Kinross. Artists, writers and musicians across the ages have found their inspiration here by the River Tay. Perth Museum and Art Gallery houses one of the oldest museum collections in the UK. Our changing exhibition programme explores the heritage and creativity of Perthshire - with a unique selection of art, natural history and archaeology on display to bring these stories to life. The venue also hosts contemporary touring exhibitions. A warm welcome is extended to all, with free activities in the galleries and an annual programme of events to support the exhibitions. The museum offers disabled access, parking nearby and a gift shop. We are open Monday - Saturday 10 am- 5 pm with Sunday opening April - October 10 am- 5 pm Admission is FREE.

The Perth Museum and Art Gallery is well worth a visit. Free entry with enough of interest to occupy a couple of hours. Loved the Louise Bourgeois sculpture in the temporary exhibition space. Wasn't expecting that!

This museum isn't a huge place but I really enjoyed visiting. There was an excellent temporary exhibition of installation art by Louise Bourgeois, which was thought-provoking and well explained, and a fascinating display of the history of the theatre in Perth. More traditional galleries included...More

Ideal place to visit on a wet Thursday in August. Friendly staff, lots of interesting facts. A good place to wander, activities for children.

This museum has outstanding displays of the history of Perth and the surrounding area. The centrepiece when we visited was an impressive 3000-year-old boat from Carpow. The displays of geology and local widlife are very informative and well-presented.
