Beautiful views but beware of glass!
May 2021 • Friends
Visited in May and thought the views were stunning. Noticed lots of glass on the floor near the base of the tower but didn't think much of it. The glass is also on the walls of the tower so if you decide to climb it to look inside you will slide your fingers. Take care!

Stunning location but awful weather meant could not explore

Stopped off here on a day exploring Ayr. Car park is quite a way from the castle so you will need a fair walk to explore . Great location on a rocky outcrop overlooking the sea. Had planned to have an explore but it raining torrentially all day so only got to look from the car park. Hope to return one day to look at it better

Great view

This is one of the main places I head to when I visit Ayr.
I love the walk out to the castle, it gives so many photo opportunities on the way.
Once you get up beside the castle the views are brilliant.

Worth the Climb
Aug 2018 • Family
Walking the extra steps to visit Geenan Castle was worth the time and effort. The trail along the beach is filled with interesting tidal pools and beautiful views. The view from the castle is spectacular.

Lovely for evening walks

My mum and I love coming here with our two dogs. You can park up near the castle and walk over the information board and down and round the beach. Very picturesque and worth the time to go and see if you are in Ayr for a week.

Blissful walk in any weather
Sep 2017
This used to be my daily walk with my dog. Many happy memories walking along the flat beach towards the ruined castle and imagining the families who once lived there and seeing local aid flowers. Glorious both on a wild winter day or to enjoy the sunshine. You might even be able to enjoy a glorious sunset over beautiful Isle of Arran . Love regular return visits. Interesting photos of inside available on line.

Lovely Walk
Jul 2018 • Solo
Me and the dog had a lovely walk along promenade and paths past Greenan castle then onto beach and walked back to Ayr via beach , Yes the castle is a ruin but it is a landmark and cannot believe is just perched on edge of cliff must have been very impressive in its day !!!!! Well worth trying if its a nice day
