If you are interested in finding out about the unique geology, archeology and history of the Burren, this museum is an ideal place to start or finish. We found the displays especially helpful because we didn't realise there was so much to see in the area and only allowed half a day, on the way to the Cliffs of Moher.... More

This small facility in Kilfenora is a good introduction to the geologic and human history of The Burren. A 10 minute film provides an overview. The exhibit area has well presented pictures, diagrams and dioramas that cover from 320 million years ago to the present time. There are church ruins nearby and fine examples of limestone Irish crosses. The staff... More

Not only was the lady at the front desk the only unhappy person I met in Ireland but, the center and the exhibits were less than impressive. Spend your time somewhere else. My family breezed through in less than 30 minutes - nothing to catch our interest.

We were a little disappointed and felt we didn't get what we thought we would from this stop. The exhibition is ok, it's dark and a lot of reading needs to be done. They do have a short movie that didn't empress us at all. We had done the circle so we saw a lot of what's called the Burren... More

For a place that is supposed to introduce you to the Burren area, it was mediocre. In the brochures, it boasts having lots of local crafts. I was hoping for more unique pieces instead of what I have seen in lots of other shops. And 20 euro for 4 people to see short movie? We passed on it and left... More

Knowing little about the burren called to get a feel for what was the best way to see the place, best sights, route, the usual stuff. Felt that I had interrupted this lady's peace. Every request was met with a sigh, asking to mark something on a map seemed to be a chore and even the information extracted was not... More

We stopped here whilst on a coach tour. The Audio Visual Display lasts just over ten minutes and tells visitors how the Burren was formed over 320 million years ago. In addition to the exhibits and the customary gift shop, there is a small cafe that can also be accessed from down the road on the way to Vaughans Pub..

We made a quick stop here before touring the Burren but found limited information along with a shop inside. The best part of the center was the cafe attached to the center. The cafe also had an outside entrance if you want quick access. It is quite small but had great scones, sandwiches and pots of tea. They also had... More

Stopped briefly at the Burren Centre to see the Kilfenora high crosses. We didn't go in to see any of the exhibits but did peruse the cemetery and the ruins. The high crosses are quite interesting especially because it's still a mystery as to what their historical purpose was, there's several theories. Their presentation is well done, being under the... We needed directions and the people here were very helpful. The Centre gives some history and some general information re: the Burren.
