Worth a day trip to Cork

Superb market. Great produce, reasonable prices, not too crowded, easy to find and access. Rivals many American indoor markets with different meat cuts, cheeses, and great breads.

What can you say - it's a small covered market. Would come in very handy if you were self catering as there are some interesting things on sale, but otherwise it seemed a tad pointless to wander around looking at food stuffs you can't use.

If you want fresh ingredents at its finest Here is where you need to visit. Butchers fishmongers artisan bakers it has it all. Great place to pick up a sandwich or salad from one of the stalls and eat it on the nearby bishop lucy park or the boardwalk on a sunny day

It's a great market for tourists as well as locals. They have lots of choices for seafood, meat, bread, cheese, vegetables, fruits, etc. It is a great place to browse and purchase fresh items. We bought bread and cheese at two separate stands. The staff at both were very accommodating and friendly. Easy to find. Great Saturday morning activity.

The English market is becoming a well known attraction to visit. As a local corkonian i take it for granted. To some visitors it might seem underwhelming at first. What makes it special is the staff who man the stalls, and the people who come to shop. It seems an obvious statement but it sums the place up. I visited... More

This review may be seen by some as slightly biased as I am a cork city resident born and reared the English market is as old as the city itself a centre of commerce in olden days today cork city residents go there to buy the freshest fruit and veg and meats including the famous or infamous depending on your...
