University College Cork is one of Ireland’s most prestigious universities. It boasts a vibrant, modern campus with a student experience second to none in Ireland. A learning community where the student is at the heart of everything and the special relationship between student and lecturer is primary to our unique ethos. The campus is located a mere ten minutes walk from the heart of Cork city, a former European Capital of Culture. Cork is listed as a top ten location in the Lonely Planet guide which states it “has always had an unshakeable self-confidence and innate sense of pride”, a description which is equally applicable to the University itself

A beautiful campus within walking distance of the city centre. A great place for a nice walk. The Glucksman theatre cafe is a great place for food and also right below the campus' art gallery.

Had a stroll around the grounds & main campus which includes the magnificent castle shaped buildings, just breathtaking & of course our children let their maginatations run wild! Then got a very informed tour from JP who has a wealth of knowledge & made it very enjoyable.

Visit the old halls. You can visit all the buildings and the students are very welcoming. See also the ancient Irish stones.

This learning institution is not only for Irish people as there are loads of students coming from Asia, North and South America to take up courses in medicine, engineering or the so-called STEM courses (Science-Technology-Eng'g-Maths). You can feel the energetic and vibrant ambience in this huge campus.

UCC has a wonderful campus. The trees south of the main quadrangle look as if they are as old as the university itself, over 150 years. The older buildings are beautiful granite and make for lovely romantic vistas. Also, when I was there, they had a wood-fired oven pizza truck on the main walk. Don't know if that is a... More

I had a little time to kill whilst walking past, so I turned in though the gates and walked in the grounds. The place has a lovely feeling, as many academic sites do, which seems to lift the spirit. The walk by the river is nice too.

This was a most enjoyable visit and had a tour with a knowledgeable, friendly German student. It included a visit to the chapel and observatory which can only be visited with a tour guide.

This is one of the 3 colleges founded in 1845 on the Island of Ireland that were once called Queens University. 2 of the 3 Colleges have since been renamed after independence from England. National University Institute Galway (NUIG) and University College Cork (UCC) The original 1845 buildings are virtually unchanged with the Quadrangle being the main focus. I got... More
