About
Rabbie’s small group tours are driven by curiosity and guided by storytellers. We find the stories that go deeper and live longer in travellers' minds. On our journeys, everyone’s hungry for the little-known or just-happened, and we can go after them: no track too small, too trodden or obscure. No need for scripts, because our guides know places like the back of their hand.

We took this 3 day tour in May 2019 pre-COVID just before taking a 14 day tour in The Republic of Ireland. The tour guide and driver was Stephanie who was excellent both in her driving of the narrow lanes and knowledge of the tour area. The tour group were mostly Canadian (8 of us) plus one from France. We were based in Bangor for the two nights at a BnB called Shelleven House.

The tour started in Dublin with the first day concentrating on Belfast (Titanic docks, and infamous sites such as the Peace Wall, protest Gate, army towers, etc.). On the second day we took the Causeway Coastal route (including some very narrow lanes for even a small tour bus) along the Atrium Coast to the Giants Causeway and back. The third day took us back to Dublin. Along the way we visited Mount Stewart (the ancestral home of the Marquis of Londonderry who oversaw the Treaty of Versailles conference), the ruins of Grey Abbey, Carrickfergus Castle (which was associated with William of Orange), Ballycastle, Stuart House and Down PatricK (where apparently St Patrick is buried). Included were Game of Thrones sites at Glengoy, Ballintoy, the Dark Arches, and Castleward.

For a quick tour of Northern Ireland it was very good, and I would recommend it for a quick introduction.

My husband and I recently traveled to Ireland for a long anticipated vacation. We spent two days in Dublin and then took a 6 night / 7 day private tour to the West of Ireland and then all along the coast back to Dublin. The trip was amazing! Rabbies did an awesome job of making the arrangements and providing all the things we needed. Everything went off without a hitch. The best part, however, were our 2 tour guides. Ian Moriarty was our first tour guide. We had him for 4 days. He was just wonderful! Ian was very knowledgeable, personable and organized. He went out of his way to make our trip a memorable one. Our second tour guide, Robert Vance, was amazing also. He too was very knowledgeable, personable and accommodating. My husband and I both felt that taking the private tour was well worth the extra money. We had the most wonderful time and truly a memorable trip! I would recommend Rabbies as a travel company and you would be very fortunate to have either Robert or Ian as a guide!

In Edinburgh, we used Rabbies to do the Lochness, Glecoe and Highlands all day tour,. Rabbies only uses 16 passenger buses and our driver, Dave, was very informative and personable. Highly recommend this company and tour.

It was my first trip to England and this tour gave me a great overview of that country. The cities we visited, the little country roads we took, the photo stops, were all well chosen and it was beauty all the way ! The two bed and breakfast (I had chosen that option, hotels available also) were very nice as well. Our guide John introduced us efficiently to the places we were about to visit and took care of everybody. The tour was very well organized and pleasant.

My wife and I are looking at either 9 or 11 day tours of Ireland. We have been impressed with Rabbie having taken a couple day trips in Scotland. Having questions concerning the feasibility of bringing a full frame camera and tripod for daily use. Would appreciate any advise.

We went on the 3 day isle of Skye trip with Cameron as our guide and had a wonderful time. Was thoroughly impressed with the tour. The van was really nice, the itinerary was perfect and Cameron was an amazing guide. So full of knowledge and friendly and played us great Scotish music, can’t wait to go on another rabbies tour.

Just recently returned from Ireland where my wife and I booked a 5 day West cost tour with RABBIES. Not dissapointed!! We had a great time from the moment of pick up to drop off at the end. This tour is 16 people max and a mix of young and old. Exactly what we wanted. Small comfortable bus with a great driver and tour guide John. He kept us informed with his exceptional knowlege of Ireland ,great sense of humor and Irish music every day. We opted for the B&B's but could have chosen hotels. And were not dissapointed. Great accommodations, food and nightly entertainment in Gaulway ,and Kilkenny. John was always accommodating and He is extremely knowledgeable about the places on the tour which made the trip more informative and enjoyable. Our group was fantastic and always good to have a mix of people with no complaints.
Our stops were frequent with beautiful scenery along the dingle tour and Ring of Kerry.
The small bus is great because you don't follow the same tour route as the big busses so seemed less time demanding.. We were initial going to rent a car and tour the Island but our decision to go with RABBIES was the right choice. no driving pressures and you get to relax and enjoy the Island as it should be.
We are not traditionally tour people but our decision to book RABBIES made our Ireland experiernce one to remember

Hi Scott, Thank you very much for your considered review, I'm so glad that you had such a great time in Ireland. It sounds as though John can take a lot of credit for enriching the experience with his knowledge, humour, music and general nature; it's lovely to hear that. Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts. All the best, Aimee

This was my first multiple day organized tour. There were only five in our group which gave us a chance to get to know each other. I would say this is a good tour for older people who have limited mobility or coach potatoes. I personally got frustrated with the long days of driving. Some of the other more mobile people did too. All of the excursions except meals felt short to me. I would have liked more time at the cliff of Moher and Blarney Castle. An option for a beach walk would also be nice. I do realize that longer stops means you would see less of the country. This is just my personal perspective.

Our guide went above and beyond what was expected of him. The other members of our group seemed to love him minus his constant diversions in politics. They even went out to the pub with him at night to eat. My experience was a little different but I should add that I was the only single woman on the tour. The guide kept singling me out to an uncomfortable degree. Everyone started to notice too. He was my mom’s age and after a couple days the constant attention started to make me uncomfortable especially since the feelings clearly weren’t reciprocated. When we parted ways on the last day he asked me for a hug and I didn’t know how to refuse him without being rude. I should have been rude because when he reached in he purposely touched my butt. I was so shocked that it happened that I'm still doubting myself about it. I actually checked my pocket to see if he returned the tip I left him, but there was no money in it.

His behavior is the reason I’m giving the tour 2 stars. Organized tours are supposed to be the safest way to travel as a single female. The only other time I felt harassed while traveling was by guides on a day trip in Guatemala. For this reason I don’t actually recommend organized travel to other solo females and will return to traveling alone in the future. If your are part of a group or a couple then you will probably have a completely different experience from mine as the other four members of my group left very happy. I’ve reached out to Rabbie’s about what happened, but so far I haven’t hear back from them.

We review itineraries each year based on customer feedback, and I will make a note of your thoughts on the stops and timings. It is a challenge to strike that right balance - there is a lot to see and do and we consider that our tours offer an overview of an area on a first visit rather than in-depth explorations. We find that a majority of guests tend to enjoy this, but we appreciate that it is subjective and that some would prefer less stops and more time at each. Thank you for your comments on this and I'm sorry to hear that the tour left you wanting a little more, at times. Based on your experience with the guide, we have been in touch and arranged a full refund for your booking. As discussed, we have zero tolerance policies on harassment and are extremely sorry that this was your experience. Passengers should absolutely feel safe booking and travelling with us and this is not acceptable. We appreciate you highlighting your experience and giving us the opportunity to investigate and take appropriate action here.

What a great time we had! This was our first visit to Ireland (late September to early October), and we wanted to get the lay of the land before we attempt to drive around the countryside ourselves. I traveled with Rabbie's before (in Scotland), and since I enjoyed the excursions so much, we decided to take 3 Rabbie's tours out of Dublin to see as much of Ireland as we could. When you tour with Rabbie's, you often travel visually appealing country roads, and the driver/guide comments on the sites, the history of the areas and more! We saw a lot of Ireland/Northern Ireland, and we learned a lot, too! In between our 3 trips, we stayed at The Morgan on Fleet Street (one of the Dublin hotels recommended by Rabbie's). This hotel is not far from the Rabbie's pick-up location (maybe a 10-minute walk). We had a quiet room in the back area of the hotel, and we enjoyed our stay at The Morgan.

Our three excursions were excellent. All of our guides were informative, helpful and friendly.

Northern Ireland: There were 12 people on this trip. Stephanie was our guide, and she did a great job explaining the culture, history and politics of the area as we traveled.
Ring of Kerry: There were 5 people on this trip. Mike showed his adaptability and offered a change in the itinerary when we had a very rainy day. His suggestion was excellent.
West Coast: There were 14 people on this trip. Seamus generously shared his wealth of information.
