We signed up for this tour and the walk was a speed walk through a busy road up hill with trees on each side and a cross farm land where we had to avoid stinging nettles for 2.9 miles. We like to exercise but thought the walk was a scenic tour. Older people would not have kept up. We stopped at Glendalough but were rushed to leave. We would have much preferred that as our walking tour. We were grouped instead with a Garden walking tour and horse back riders. This made it a rush for the tour guide John. We also did not know we were with Hill top tours. We signed up,with Viator. Our Guide smoked constantly while we walked and the van was like a cooker it was so hot. Our guide tried to get us to not go to Glendalough. He complained it was a Bankers holiday weekend and would be too busy. He was also not wanting to stop at the PS I love you Bridge. We felt that he did not enjoy his job and was putting in the time. There was beautiful scenery we wish we had had more time to enjoy. It was overall a disappointment.

We spent one day out with Hill Top Trecks company (this company is the same as Walkabout Wicklow). Our guide and driver in one, Johny, was very friendly and told us a lot of interesting information. We' ve chosen this company becuase of guided walk, which was in fact about 1,5 hrs walk through the forest. Althouh it was not quite what we expected, we loved it.

Whether from Ireland or abroad, this day is wonderful if you want to experience the beautiful countryside, not far from Dublin. Our Guide was excellent and very knowledgeable, the National Park gorgeous, having rained the day before, everything was so colourful- we had a lovely sunny day! Glendalough was a lovely experience. Well done to everyone who organised this. Thank You.

My day with Walkabout Wicklow and our guide Michael was a great day with beautiful areas in Wicklow Mountains National Park, a short stop at Glendalough and driving through the wonderful soft hills of the national park. It was a small group, this was really cool after a few days in Dublin with so many people. Great tour, nice guide, funny day! Thumbs up!

If you love nature and wish to take a day's break Wicklow is the place to go. Its overwhelming with nature, history and cultural heritage. I am glad I selected the right day, right place and the right tourist service for a day tour to Wicklow in winter. I went recently on 23rd November, which was a very sunny day. I booked my tour through Hilltoptreks. My guide John C Ducie, who is a National Tour Guide and Professional Genealogist was very friendly and shared loads of information on all places we passed through, right from the start to the end of the tour. The journey was comfortable and memorable too. I would strongly recommend couples and families with grown up children (kids may find it difficult to trek uphill) to take up this day tour through Hilltoptreks.

This was pretty much an all day event and it was definitely supposed to rain all day but it ended up being beautiful all day! First we went on a hike, then stopped for lunch at poppies which was delicious (I had a guinness beef pot pie). We then went to Guinness lake I want to say where we went to what looked to be a beach with two large mountains. We also stopped at the "PS I love you bridge" which was awesome because that movie is what made me want to visit in the first place!

If you choose to take this tour, be apprised that Wicklow is not a town, but a region of mountains. The tour is a drive and a hike. Be sure to wear good shoes that support your ankles as the hike can be to a hilltop in the Wicklow Mountains. Very nice views.

Walkabout Wicklow was the best part of my trip to Dublin. The day started off cloudy/overcast yet as were we hiking (a very small group) to the top of the overlook of the sea..the clouds parted and the sun shined through! It was a beautiful panaramic view and very memorable. Michael is a great guide. I was actually a couple minutes late as I got lost looking for the bus loading area. I was quite frantic looking when a man comes up to me and says "Are you looking for the Wicklow Tour?" Turns out this man was Michael, the guide and was actually looking for me! Let's just say that kind of friendliness does not exist in America.. This tour is highly recommended as you actually get out of the bus and walk and experience first the places rather than look out through the window. Great for solo travelers...Book it now!
