The train was a great way to get around Ireland. The people were very friendly and helpful. The train was always on time. The bathrooms could have been cleaned a bit more frequently. People left their garbage on the train but it seems they do that in every country, unfortunately. We didn't understand the reserved seating on the train. Some people never showed up to sit in their reserved seats.

Train from Dublin to Limerick then coach to burst toy castle, cliffs of moher and back to Galway to catch train back to Dublin. The tour escort we had was great and shared a bottle of Irish Whisky on the train back to Dublin. Highly recommended

I love to travel by train and have done so all over the civilized world but had never traveled via inter city train in Ireland. We book a round trip from Dublin to Belfast. The good news is that the trip itself is only a bit over two hours because the cars are horribly uncomfortable. Seats are oriented two by two facing each other with a table in the middle. There is not enough room to get in or lay back and rest since the seats don't move an inch. The table is incredibly sturdy and over-engineered with a foot right in the middle and a crossbar that runs the length of the table which is made to withstand a collision with a battleship. This means that space is sacrificed for the sake of using more material; you can't really stretch your legs with somebody seating in front of you; what a horrible experience. And to make things worse, the refreshment cart offers beer, soft drinks and water and they are all warm....and the lady could not even produce change. Irish Railroads really need to get their act together....never again.

40 mins on little train going South takes you over grand canal, past Lansdowne road rugby, and all along coast to enjoy stunning views over the water. Jump off at Bray and seaside 50 yards away. Beautiful pebble beach and long, flat and spotless promenade. Sea life centre and plenty places to stay or dine. Brilliant. Trains clean and very regular to and from Dublin.

We arrived on the train with great expectations, that soon disappeared at our first dinner, when we were told what wine they would be serving. I do not drink white wine I asked for a glass of Rose`,they did not have any!!! I tried the white it was undrinkable. They did not know how to make champagne cocktail.
