Hidden within a bookshop in Temple Bar finding The New Theatre is a bit like finding buried treasure. Specialising in supporting new writing you are guaranteed to find something new, daring, different or inventive on stage.

We saw "The Last Green Bag," which is a diabolically clever spoof of film noir ... with a sharp twist that sneaks up on you just as you're laughing at the idiocy of it all. Come here if you're looking for playwrights with something to...More

I attended 'Save & Quit' at the weekend and both the play and theatre deserve a thumbs up. The theatre is small and intimate but did not feel at all cramped. The quirky bit is that you enter through a door in the back of...More

I was gifted tickets to the opening night of this new play in June 2016. This was my first visit to the theatre (apart from knowing where the bookshop was) and I had a great experience. You enter through the bookshop and immediately find yourself...More

Fab cosy theatre. Enter via a book shop. I love the whole atmosphere & performance. When back in Dublin this will be on my list.

This is a relatively small theatre in the Temple Bar area of Dublin that tends to do non-mainstream plays/performances. The seating isn't particularly comfortable and food/drink facilities are limited.

We saw "Taboo" here recently. The theatre is located at the back of a book shop, the space itself sits 66 people so it is quite small but this means you are never far away from the stage. An enjoyable experience.

Excellent small cosy venue. Helpful staff and the play we seen was excellent. Marty Massacar A bit hard to find as it at the back of a book store. Wine needs to improve.

This is a small theatre behind a good bookshop near Temple Bar but away from its hussle and bussle. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The quality of drama and production usually simple but invariably good. Sometimes the quality of acting is stunnig and...More
