Christ Church Cathedral is one of Dublin's oldest buildings, a leading visitor attraction and a place of pilgrimage for almost 1,000 years. Famous for its breathtaking beauty, magnificent architectural features and wonderful floor tiles, Christ Church is also popular as a venue and is host to many high profile concerts throughout the year. It is home to the tomb of Strongbow, leader of the Normans, who captured Dublin in 1170. The Medieval Crypt, one of the largest in Britain and Ireland, extends under the entire Cathedral and contains The Mummified cat and rat, trapped in the organ in the 1860s.

Guided tours, including the belfry, available up to five times a day Monday to Saturday.

This is a must see!!! This church is gorgeous. The crypt is amazing. The day we went they had an little festival outside the church grounds with food, beverage, and trinket vendors. It was a nice addition to our tour.

We took a tour here that took us up on the roof, into the belfry where we actually got to ring some bells, and down into the crypt. It was a very entertaining tour and I highly recommend it.

I've been to the bellfry tour twice now, with different people visiting me as I myself live in Dublin. I can honestly say it's one of the most unique experiences to have in Dublin. As part of the tour you learn how the cathedral bells are rung and ring them yourself. Truly a recommendation to everyone who is visiting Dublin.... More

The Christ Church Cathedral is a destination for people who like old architecture. It's just one of many other impressive churches in Dublin.

Stopped in to visit the old Cathedral and was quite impressed with how well the church was restored and the Beautiful stained glass. There is an entrance fee of 6 Euro's and allows you enough time to take in the beauty and pray. I was very impressed with all the stained glass, make sure you visit when the sun shines... More

The interior of the cathedral is quite stunning and I especially enjoyed going down into the crypts which have quite a good historical narrative and some pretty interesting items on exhibit. Interesting to find out that the Tudors tv show has filmed there as well. It would have been good to know that you could have gotten a double ticket... More

We did not get a guided tour, just wandered around and looked at the beautiful architecture and lovely religious paraphernalia. The tombs were interesting. The gift shop was quick to kick us out as they were closing in about 15 minutes, so we left without purchasing anything we might have.

This is an interesting piece of history, which makes you understand what the church's role was in Ireland. The crypt is something I definitely recommend, with its famous mummified cat and rat.

Very impressive cathedral in the city centre; beautiful stained glass windows. If you get your timing right, there are bell ringing tours for a little extra cost - we didn't quite time our visit right for this!
