Fascinating. I loved being here and know what I was looking at was centuries old.

Beautiful display-the colors are still vivid. I remember reading that they turn one page a month I believe, so that no one page gets more light exposure than another.

Very informative display on the Book of Kells, which is almost an anti-climax when you get there, but the real star is the long library upstairs, which gives a fascinating insight to early seats of learning - and is so beautiful.

First of all, it was an amazing surprise to have such a nice exhibition at TCD. I usually need to go to the Museum because of my work and in one of the visits I manage to visit the Book of Kells and the Library. The building is just amazing, both inside as outside, and entering the library makes you... More

This was definitely a trip highlight for me. I am sure being a recent government and political philosophy major at a Catholic college helped but I found the library to be absolutely amazing and the ancient text and illustrations of the book of Kells to be awe inspiring.

The Old Library is every book lover's dream! It comes at the end of the tour, so you'll have to go through the exhibition about the Book of Kells first. The Book itself is pretty impressive but you can only see 2 pages. All the information and artefacts around it are really interesting if you are into this. Don't do... More

Pretty but not worth the entrance fee for 15 to 20 minutes inside, doesn't take long to see everything

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit during the off season. Quiet, not too busy, and excellent exhibits. Wish there was a way to view more than 2 pages of the Book of Kells!

One unbelievable visit. The long room which is the name for the old library was fantastic. Old volumes and busts of many old Irish scholars. One great visit. .

I am an avid reader and the Trinity Library is probably the most incredible trip back in time to a historic library ever! The Book of Kells normally is what draws in the tourists and it is great, but nothing beats the smell of old books that fills the air when you make your way up the staircase to the... More

The library is very impressive - some of the books have not been touched in 200 years! Of course, the book of Kells itself is why everyone visits, and it is well worth seeing - just be aware that only a couple of pages are on display at any one time.
