On the top floors they were running an exhibition based on photographer Pieter Hugo works. It's worth a visit. Entry is free and you can voluntarily contribute some money. On the ground floor, photography specialised bookshop. Hidden in a very nice court in Temple Bar.

Its a great place to pop into its free and doesn't take long. They always have interesting exhibitions on. You can walk around with ease and enjoy the photography on show.

I popped in to the Gallery of Photography in Temple Bar for a look. It currently shows photographs from the 2016 period and it is excellent! The place is easy to manoeuvre around. Most of the photos are downstairs. The exhibition itself is brilliant. There is one huge photograph illustrating the destruction of the area around the GPO, O'Connell St... More

A little hidden, but I'm a tourist. Had two collections one from Irish photographer Ted Russell, who intimately captured Bob Dylan in NYC between 1961-1964. Lasts till mid-Feb. Get along. Also, upstairs, a collection of sketches from an accompanying book. Musicians again, on the circuit and roughly drawn but capturing the energy of traditional Irish sessions. Do go, look up... More

It's a small photo gallery. The stuff seemed kind and friendly. It probably depends on when you go there, but the exhibition wasn't artistic photographs at all when I got there. (I enjoy artistic photography) It was more about journalism which seems the society's problems. So it can be a good opportunity to get to know the city and the... More

I visited to see the exhibit on Donegal music and the work of the Mooney/Ni Mhaonaigh family. That was well presented over two floors of galleries. Lots of light filled space, thoughtfully designed, fronting on Meeting House Square. This was my first visit to the Gallery, seems as though it would be adaptable to many sorts of exhibits and based... More

I would assume this place changes its set up every now and then, at the moment it is housing an exhibition dedicated to the female instrumentalist Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh who played in the Irish trad band, Altan. As a venue, it is easily accessible, sitting in the hidden away Meeting House Square in Dublin's tourist centre, Temple Bar. I really... More

The Gallery is currently hosting an exhibition of the work of the late great Arthur Fields, one of Dublin's most famous Street photographers. Running from the mid thirties to the late eighties it is an amazing record of the period. For anyone interested in the social fabric of the time, its unmissable.

I visited to see the show of photographs from the 1960's. Below each picture was an explanation that helped to give it context, life and "colour". They were mostly taken in the west of Ireland, where I was traveling in the mid 1990s, and saw some of those ladies in shawls. It took me back, seeing these images from there.... More

Gorgeous exhibition of (mostly) 1960's Dublin (and other times/places) currently exhibited. Well worth a look.
