I only had a few free hours on Sunday and wanted to choose an meaningfull activity. Thankfully, my intellectual and emotional side won over a search for more entertainment. The ground floor exhibition is a chronological history of Jewish life in Ireland and full of genuine artifacts and documents. The volunteer tour guide was very knowledgable as well as very... More

The museum gives a good overview of the history of Jews in Ireland and the docent was very helpful. Although there are many artifacts on display, it was difficult to read some of the old newspaper clippings. We enjoyed our visit, but it is not a must see, even if you are Jewish.

The guides who took us around the Irish Jewish Museum were so proud of their heritage and the museum is a little gem. It just seems so sad that a thriving community of several thousand has been to reduced to about 200. It is well set out with a lot of information, and some nice little books on sale.

We found out about the museum from the Dublin tour book. As we are part Jewish we felt it would be a great place to visit. And we were right. The museum is housed within 2 old houses which have been knocked through, and it includes the original kitchen which is on show. The volunteers that work at the museum... More

Loved the visit to the museum. Very informative. Nice area to walk and get a feel of the old Jewish area. We had a tour guide from tours by locals. Peter White, lovely person. Highly recommended.

We had an absolutely marvelous time at the museum. It is full of the rich cultural history of Irish Jewry and contains many, many precious artefacts. While it isn't a very large museum, the collection is extensive and well curated, the displays fascinating and the experience immersive. It was easy to park using a nearby metre (apparently we were warned... More

The IJM is a super secret. It sits in the middle of Georgian Dublin and house the 1000 or so year history of the Jewish/Irish community. Don't forget to go upstairs and check out the synagogue.

Had a wonderful time at this museum which was formerly an active synagogue. There is a great deal of memorabilia displayed and the docent was happy to spend as much time with us as we wanted. I was very impressed by the variety of items and loved the upstairs synagogue with even more Judaical items - some rescued from the... More

Found this museum online, and so glad we decided to visit. Fascinating history of the Jews of Dublin, which will interest all faiths. Outstanding voluntary guide, who will take the time to cover all you need to know and more. No charge to enter, but remember that this museum is funded solely by donations, so please give something/ purchase some... More

This is a delightful little museum dedicated to the Irish Jewish Community and the history of the Jews in Ireland. Small, but fascinating - we got a treat and were able to sit in on a presentation to the Dublin historical society - really informative and fun. Museum downstairs and early 20th century Synagogue upstairs. Limited opening hours (Sundays from... More
