The whole premise of the Museum is actually quite cool - everything in it was donated by the people of Dublin. So it is an eclectic walk through historical events in two large rooms. The tour guides have been told to, or have decided to,...More

With all the artifacts having been donated my the citizens of Dublin themselves, this is a a home-grown,, authentic DUBLIN enterprise. The tour was fun, informative, and convenient to our exploration of the city.

Finally had the chance to visit the Little Museum of Dublin across from Stephens Green. A wonderful time with Patrick himself; reciting poetry & speeches, singing songs, humorist of high laughter, and questioner of Irish trivia. Should you find yerself in Dublin do not miss...More

This was one of the highlights of my trip to Dublin. The 1 hour tour compressed hundreds of years of irish history in a fun manner, and taught me a lot about the city and Ireland in general. The guide Ronan was awesome!

The tour lasts about 45 minutes however would allow a further 30 minutes to look round the other rooms. Hope you enjoy 😊

Hi Angela Regarding your response to my review - I'm delighted to hear that there is a Women's History tour of the museum and I look forward to taking it. I don't agree with your characterisation of my review as pointed, as I believe my observations were made fairly and in good faith. Perhaps if elements of the women's history were incorporated into the main tour, it would have changed my description of it as not giving due representation to the contribution of one half of the population in our people's history. Regarding your point about the 'reality' of history being safely described as male dominated - while I don't disagree, given that it reflects a patriarchal power structure, I do believe this places all the more onus on those curating it to bring to bear those elements that exist of women's role and experience, in literature, politics, and indeed domestic life and the life of family, which is equally 'real' history. My point about the tale of the 'contraceptive train' is not that it wasn't represented - I saw what it was - but that it would make an interesting part of the tour narrative.
