Great purpose-built gallery showcasing contemporary Irish art hidden away in the middle of Georgian Dublin. Lovely cafe & shop on site.

While it was a little out of the way for me, and it was cold and drizzly into the bargain, the twenty minute walk to here was worthwhile, if not just for the portraits on display in the main foyer. The gallery on the ground floor to the left had a varied selection of works, many worthy of note. The... More

Had a quick visit here on Sunday and I want disappoint, The exhibits were varied and really interesting. The lady on the reception desk was lovely and I can not emphasis enough how nice it was to be made feel so welcome by her.

We saw two excellent and interesting exhibitions both from young Irish artists, Una Seally and Aideen Barry. The gallery was recommended to us by a local friend at a time when museums in the area were extremely busy. It was a pleasant find.

Those were the words that came from my husband who was reluctant at first to enter this magnificent gem of eclectic art - all for free.

The 186th Annual Exhibition is currently running at the RHA until 11th June, so although I was delighted to be invited to an evening preview of the exhibition earlier in March, there is plenty of time to go and feast my eyes again. The RHA in its own right is a wonderful building on Ely Place (just a minute or... More

I visited the Royal Hibernian Academy (RHA), during my recent trip to Dublin. The gallery is tucked away amidst Georgian houses in the Southside of the city. It is teeming with wonderful contemporary art represented in multiple mediums that seem to cover every available space, including the walls. Also, the gallery is quite spacious, so you have to opportunity to... More

The RHA galleries always exhibit a fantastic variety of works in different mediums and interesting video installations. An added attraction is the occassional weekend lunchtime recitals.

An excellent place to visit if you're around St Stephen's Green and close to Grafton St. The cafe is very nice but expensive if you're budgeting. The exhibition areas are great, nice rooms with high ceilings. We saw the recent RHA exhibition here which has a huge variety of art each year but I have to wonder how they can... More
