About
Located in the heart of Dublin 15, Draíocht is an arts centre steadfastly committed to serving its local community and influencing arts practice far beyond. Its development was instigated by a passionate cohort of people from within this unique community, with its rich tradition of drama and musical theatre and fast-growing young and culturally diverse population. Their vision and determination was rewarded when Draíocht opened in 2001, a purpose-built space with two theatres, two galleries, an artist’s studio, a workshop space and a café. With an eclectic but high-quality programme that includes performance, visual arts and music from both up-and-coming and established artists, we now welcome over 50,000 people of all ages, stages, interests and abilities a year. We look forward to welcoming you soon!

Concert in Draíocht

Went to a performance by The Classics Beatles in this theatre last weekend. The whole process of booking, parking, pre-show drinks and, most importantly, the sound and lighting in the theatre itself was truly excellent.Would highly recommend a visit.

The Draiocht in The Blanchardstown Centre is a great local Centre for art and live entertainment. The auditorium is great, not too big or small and there are frequently great value shows on here.
You can have a drink before and during the show at the interval .
Tonight we went to see Phil Coulter, it was a great night, his wife Geraldine Brannigan accompanied him in the second half. He’s a great entertainer in a great venue.
If you live in Dublin 15, keep an eye on their website for event listing.

Little theater and art gallery
Oct 2018 • Family
I was in this theater few times, watching movies (titles you will not find in Odeon) or listening local school orchestra. Theater/cinema is rather small but has positive energy.
Also there is gallery with temporary exhibitions. Great place to meet artists.

Local treasure.

Although I have been to numerous plays and films in Draiocht I use it more regularly for its wonderful coffee shop. The staff are amazing, we don't even need to tell Anna what we need as she always remembers. There is a lovely corner with lots of toys so my grandson can play while we eat. There is always a good programme of events on, to suit all age groups. It is a central part of Blanchardstows leisure activities and well worth a visit.

An oasis of art and music

Beautiful little theatre. A wonderful amenity in the community.. In the heart of Blanchardstown Retail Centre. Great area for food and drink. Excellent transport links. The theatre itself was hosting a school production on the night which was heartwarming. A fine stage and seats over 200. A small bar and coffee shop on the premises and the staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend a visit for intimate gigs and theatre shows

The Draoicht never fails to delight!

We are irregular theatre goers, but every time we go, we wonder why we don't do more theatre going. This time we saw Ballet Ireland's production of Romeo and Juliet.

Firstly, about the theatre - the venue is accessible, intimate, and comfortable. The staff are unfailingly polite, helpful and professional. There's both a bar and a coffee shop so just about everyone can find something suitable. And at the Draiocht, the shows are wonderful and the prices very reasonable, especially by comparison with high profile venues.

This production of Romeo and Juliet was very special. The sets were simple but very innovatively utilised. From a classroom in the initial scene, they transformed into the street, the balcony, the bed and ultimately the tomb - all of the transitions were highly credible, subtle and seamlessly achieved.

The energy, skill and ability of every single dancer were inspiring. The corp de ballet acted beautifully as well as dancing beautifully. The lead dancers from Romeo and Juliet, to the parents of Juliet, to the nurse the priest and Mercutio and on to the suitor and the leader of the Capulet family "gang" were absolutely breathtaking in their performances. The poignancy of grief expressed at the various deaths throughout the performance was heart rending. One wanted to get on stage and comfort the grieving person. The intimacy of the love scenes was stunning - from the initial touch of fingertips to the sensuality of the love dance. The transformation of the dancer from young to mature simply by how they carried themselves in particular scene we amazing. We were totally engaged and awed and enthralled.

This production is worth seeing at whatever venue you can find. But Deaiocht made it an outstanding pleasure with its unique ambiance contributing to the superb performances.

Thank you Daiocht for a fabulous evening.

Great theatre

The Draiocht theatre is situated within the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre and is possible to access through many bus routes.

The theatre itself is a small intimate venue and is perfect for both stand-up comedy as well as musical acts.

There is also ample parking within the grounds of the shopping centre so on the evening of your performance you will have no trouble at all finding a parking place.

I have seen an incredible range of plays , musicians, artists works here over the last few years, from Niamh Kavanagh, to Eddie Reader, Freddie White, Don Wycherly and the now deceased Anna Managhan. Two great theatres contained here and a magnificent space on the ground floor to showcase artistic talent. They also run workshops for children and adults. A great asset to Blanchardstown
