The pub, the poet and the pint. In Dublin, they seem to be inseparable. The public house is where writers sharpened their wit. This two hour walking tour is led by a team of professional actors who follow in the footsteps of James Joyce, Samuel Beckett, Oscar Wilde, Brendan Behan and many others. You will hear renditions of prose, verse, drama and song from Dublin's literary hall of fame. The evening is packed with entertainment and also includes a quiz with prizes for the winners. As one critic wrote: 'A highly enjoyable evening that gives you the pleasant notion of replacing brain cells as you drown them'. Check our website for further details and to book online.

My friend and I had an excellent time on this tour when we visited in early June. It's a great way to see some of Dublin's famous sites as well as learn a lot about Ireland's illustrious literary history. The four pubs that we visited all had great character, and even better pints of Guinness! All in all, it was... More

Frank and Colm were excellent tour guides through some of Dublin's historic literary landmarks. Of course, in a city like Dublin, with such a rich history in literature, it would be impossible to dive too deeply in one evening, but they provided some wonderful vignettes of the lives of Dublin's greatest writers and acted out a few scenes from some... Relax and fun while still being informative. Guides were entertaining and well informed. Easy to get drinks in the pubs in the time available. Wish we had taken notes as we can only remember some of the things although win did the quiz. Met nice people and stayed longer at the last place chatting with them and then went somewhere... More

During the opening 'act' I wasn't sure I had made the right choice with this tour, but it ended up being really informative and fun. The bars we went to were interesting and the beers were good too. I won the t-shirt at the end so maybe I'm a bit biased, but I enjoyed it overall. (I had booked a... More

As part of a nine person multinational group, we found this attraction well advertised, easy to book, easy to find, and well worth the token attraction fee! Our performers for the Friday evening we attended were Sarah and Frank, their performance was convincing and kept us laughing as we moved through the mix of cultural and entertainment components. The pub... More

Finbar & Frank were warm & excellent hosts as well as consummate actors, bringing Dublin's literary history to life for us all. Dress warmly for a winter's evening as the tour involves walking and standing outdoors, as well as inside bustling and welcoming pubs. We arrived early at Duke's and had a bite to eat before the tour started. Highly... More

Everything you'd want to experience, and even though our group was an all-American group, they were still quite eclectic. They took us through Trinity College with renditions of Wilde and a brief history. In total there were four pubs but the actors were the real treasure. A certain brilliance I'll never achieve, sure footed and quick on their toes. You... More

We visited 4 pubs and Trinity College. Derek was our guide and we really enjoyed ourselves and the yarns/performance of our guides.

Finn and Frank have a buoyant chemistry that exudes warmth and passion. Their monologues, rendered expertly from the works of Joyce, Yeats, Wilde, et al, provide a unique view into the local history steeped with the rich undertones of rebellion and satire. Both were friendly hosts who took a genuine interest in the entertaining the wide variety of international visitors.... More

This started well with a dedicated room in the first pub. However our guide Derek didn't seem to have any wit or charm beyond his rapidly deteriorating script. 2nd pub was so so busy with no dedicated space for us, couldn't get a drink from the surly bar staff and the guide vanished - seemingly more interested in his free... Hello I recall this reviewer at the end of tour. His attitude to the tour remained the same throughout. It was rude, short tempered, belittling and, as you can read, downright racist. I think if you read other more measured responses you'll get a fairer picture of what do. Colm More
