Description:

A warm welcome always awaits in The Cellar Bar at The Merrion hotel....

A warm welcome always awaits in The Cellar Bar at The Merrion hotel. Located in the original 18th Century wine vaults, with its bare bricked walls and vaulted ceilings, The Cellar Bar is an intrinsic part of Dublin's vibrant social scene. The Cellar Bar features fifty carefully selected wines, available by the glass. Furthermore, to complement the extensive wine offering, Executive Chef, Ed Cooney, has devised mouthwatering lunch and evening menus prepared simply with plenty of Merrion style, a perfect choice when dining in Dublin.

Nice wine list....food good...not over the top....service very good, staff friendly....the Merrion of course is outstanding....though the Cellar Bar has quite a different ambience to it than the main hotel, common rooms and main bars..more informal in Cellar Bar

Visiting Dublin for the first before cruising. We made a last minute reservation at The Cellar, and so glad we did. We had an incredible meal and service. Would definitely recommend eating here if you are in Dublin!

Great atmosphere and food, because of all the alcoves we were in our own room for a party of 8. We had an assortment of food and beverages that pleased all.

Visited yesterday for Sunday Brunch...didn't intend going here but popped in and the menu looked great so we decided to give it a go. Food was excellent all round from French toast to Croque Madame to salads. The huevos rancheros looked amazing too!! We had a pitcher of mimosa to wash down the delicious food and finished with a drink... More

I absolutely adore the Cellar Bar. Whether you're with a group of friends or it's just a quiet drink with friends or your other half, it is just perfect. The service is efficient and discreet. The cocktails are delicious. There are fabulous little nooks and crannies that are so cosy. It's difficult to describe how lovely it is-just go and... More

Great bar below the Merrion hotel. Dinner selection isn't huge, but it has a lot of good options and everything I had was great. The service was also exceptional! The overall layout of the bar was really interesting, with a typical bar room, but little nooks where small groups could sit and drink/eat with a little privacy. I was there... More

We were invited by friends to dinner in the Cellar Restaurant and enjoyed great ambiance and food. Very relaxed feel to the place; we shared a bottle of prosecco in the bar before going to the restaurant and repaired back to the bar afterwards. Food and service was top class. For the high standards, the A La Carte menu is... More

As you can see I am a Level 6 contributor and most on restaurant reviews with most of them satisfactory BUT NOT THIS TIME FOR THE CELLAR BAR RESTAURANT( Not the bar itself but the restaurant ). I realise it was Easter weekend but that's no excuse for the failures on the night. Waited 20 miutes for the wine to... More

We decided more or less spontaneous that we wanted to have Sunday brunch at the Cellar Bar at the Merrion Hotel in the heart of Dublin and reserved a table for two the evening before having the meal. Most time slots were already gone, so we took the one at 14.00 hours. We were also advised that we had to... More
