We visited Dublin for the first time. This tour was an excellent insight into life in Ireland and it's history. Hearing stories as we travelled to Armagh, passing through historic sites, gave us a wonderful and objective insight into the troubles Ireland has experienced and has begun to overcome. We stopped at places of interest many times but the most beautiful moment was on entering St Patrick's RC Cathedral. It has a most wonderful interior. There was a great welcome wherever we stopped.

Dear Jan, Thank you kindly for your review of the Border Tour. So pleased that you enjoyed it. We hope that you are now better informed of Ireland's ancient and recent history and can appreciate how far the 'Border Counties' have come considering the years of turmoil that the people have had to endure. St Patrick's RC Cathedral is indeed a sight to behold with it's opulent décor and reverent atmosphere. This is a place truly worth the time for a visit. We are delighted that you were welcomed by everyone that you encountered throughout the day. We, Irish are famous for our hospitality, and none more so than the 'Border People'. It may have been your first visit to Dublin and also to the Border Counties, but we certainly hope that it won't be your last. Kind regards, Damian McKenna

I had a lovely relaxing day with my daughter and our tour guide Damian. We were treated to a special tour with a beautiful narrative world of Celtic history right up to the present. At the end of the tour, I was able to recognize the early settlements by the circular trees up on a hill with a lake below and a small island in the middle (a gem). Damian has passion for his country that I felt compelled upon returning home to Canada to follow up with Jonathan Bardon’s A History of Ireland. This tour is full of little gems. It was a good day.

Dear Theresa, Thank you very much for your positive review of the 'Border Tour'. I am so pleased that you and your daughter enjoyed the day spent on the tour and in my company. I am delighted that you have learned a great deal about our Celtic history, as well as the Living History of the 'Border Counties'. You now know all about the features on the landscape of the counties that we passed through and can now identify the Hill Forts and Crannogs that are plentiful along the 'Border Counties' and were built as a defence from foreign attack. This historical journey has obviously reignited a passion to learn more about Ireland as you are currently reading the book 'A History of Ireland', by Jonathan Bardon. As you observed, I am passionate about my area and I hope through the 'Border Tour' to inform and encourage more people to visit the area to experience the culture, heritage and hospitality of our beautiful counties. So please spread the word about our area and the 'Border Tour', and hopefully our paths shall cross again in the future. Kind regards, Damian McKenna

A friend and I decided to go on the "Border Tour" as it sounded so different from the usual run of the mill and well beaten day tours such as The Cliffs of Moher or the Wicklow Lakes (which we have been on and were lovely from a sightseeing point of view), this one appealed as it was advertised as being educational as well as touring a completely undiscovered part of Ireland, which we were very curious about. From the moment Elena and I boarded the bus, we were involved in an unfolding story as we left Dublin city behind and travelled northwards. We were rapt as we were taken through the ancient history of this little country to a build up of the story of "the troubles" and we both learned an immense amount about how it all came about. We visited the border area and criss crossed from the Republic to Northern Ireland many times. The area is stunning and we couldn't wait to see what was around each corner! Also, we felt so involved and like friends with Damian who seemed to have limitless knowledge of the area and the history. We enjoyed a tasty lunch (included in the price!), in a small local community hotel where everyone was so friendly. We didnt want our day tour to end and both agreed we would love to do it again and one of the best day tours in Ireland. We would thoroughly recommend anyone to go on this tour. Thank you again to our great guide Damian and the wonderful friendly people of the border area.
