We concur with the previous reviewer. It’s a tough hike because the trail is so broken up by erosion. You really need some serious footwear. We had 6 days of sun on our vacation . . . unheard of for Ireland . . . so the view from Saint Patrick’s shrine was spectacular. We are totally glad we did it.... More

Two things to say for starters : (1) this is not an easy ramble, and boots or strong walking-shoes are recommended, and (2) to get the deserved "payback" for your efforts (in terms of scenic views especially) you should hope for that relatively rare Connemara phenomenon - a clear dry day! A brilliant place to have a stroll away from it all. Parking is handy and you can walk all the way to the pub at Mam.
