Wet day visit

Worth a visit even in the rain. There was a carnival visiting on this saint Patrick's weekend. Wet but still nice to see.

Though I like modern art, this statue did not impress me. It did not have a definite meaning to me. I will learn more about its history to try to re-evaluate it.

Its a landmark in Galway. I love it. It cannot be missed and is a great spot on a sunny day where one can sit and people watch until its time for lunch.

The fountain in Eyre Square has been a gathering point for many reasons down through the years. Great to sit and people watch from here

Sorry but we weren't impressed with this at all. It just looks like a heap of rusting metal in the middle of the square.

Actually it's suppose to represent the coat of arms of the city of Galway, and the long tradition of sailing trade in and out of the city in days of old! Sitting in the middle of the cities Eyre Square, this rusty sculpture is surrounded by lots of students, down and outs, commuters and me, a visitor to this fine... More
