O’Connell’s bar is located in the heart of Galway city in Eyre Square. A traditional Irish bar which was originally a grocery store and small bar, and it still has most of its original features and decor. O' Connells is one of Galway's oldest bars and is famous for its cosy atmosphere and amazing pint of Guinness. O' Connells have a large selection of whiskeys, gins and craft beers. They also have a large heated beer garden with outdoor bars and live entertainment every weekend.

One of the best pubs to grab a Guinness in Eyre Square or even Galway for that matter. Lots of outside space and super cool antiques to peruse.

When this place fills up it's a great place to be with friends or colleagues. Beer can easily be bought at several places inside. Smokers have their place outside. Different music in different locations.

Went for a pizza and beer after a rugby match, it was really busy but manager to get a seat in the beer garden. Pizza queue was long but moved along. The beeper system is a very clever idea. I might be a little biased...More

Went for gin & tonics and they were great, but the atmosphere was the real star. You'll think it is 1817 instead of 2017.

Rang in advance as we'd been told the pub was dog-friendly. Was told on the phone that there'd be "absolutely no problem" with our dog coming inside. Walked from Salthill (about 40 minutes away on foot) only to be turned away by a rude bouncer...More

Hi Evalena, Apologies for misleading information you received when you called in advance, the person who you spoke with didn't realise food service was in operation at that time. We are a dog friendly pub but we do not permit dogs when food service is...More
