A narrow, pedestrianized street lined with shops and eating establishments with both indoor and outdoor street-side seating. Street entertainers (buskers) abound, Weather permitting, it is so crowded that walking can be difficult.

Beautiful street with a lot of history, shops and buskers. You may take the little streets which cross the street into consideration, too.

Quay St - always buzzing, but sometimes too buzzing. June, July and August, it is absolutely thronged with tourists and most locals don't go at all as it's too busy. All the pubs and restaurants are jammed. There can be a great atmosphere, but sometimes...More

A stop in Galway proved to be my favorite party of our trip. Quay Street is a welcoming place to walk, shop and drink in inviting pubs!

Walking along Quay street at night was delightful. I conducted my self guided pub crawl by stopping by the doorway and listening to the music coming out. Excellent trad music of many different varieties.

Checked out this place on our recent break and couldn't believe how busy it was with visitors, buskers, balloon makers etc. Ate away from here tho as too busy for our liking.

Just keep in Mind that good Friday is the only day in the year when no alcohol is sold in Ireland. Apart from that you should be fine not like Christmas day where towns and streets are like ghost towns.
