We had a lovely half day angling (not fishing) with Brian. Our two teenage daughters, my husband and myself learned how to use different styles of rods and got to try them out on Lough Corrib. Brian was a excellent teacher and guide. We had a great morning, relaxing, entertainining and educational.

My 17 year old son and I were picked up at our hotel in Galway by David. He drove us to the loch and had Irish fly rods and reels for us. We fished with wet flies for 1/2 day and each caught 40 or so small Irish brown trout. We were looking for the sea run browns but didn’t see any this day. Brian has a wonderful Irish drift boat and would motor to the top of the loch and then paddle/drift with the wind to the bottom. Perfect dark peaty water with men cutting peat in the distance. Windy but wonderful day. Brian was very helpful and kind and a great host.

Brian was a wonderful guide and helped me improve my technique while exposing me to some of the most glorious water in the Costelloe fishery. The scenery was stunning and I learned a lot about the fishery, and the overall shape of management efforts in the process. I would highly recommend Brian as a guide to anyone looking to fish for salmon or trout in these majestic waters.

Brian took myself and four grandchildren (two in the morning and two in the afternoon) out on Lough Glenicmurrin in the Costelloe system. He showed infinite patience with the children and taught them how to cast and work a fly through the water. I couldn't recommend him more highly as a teacher and guide. We saw several seatrout, landed one or two brown trout, but a storm was on the way and I think the fish mostly had their heads down.

Our fishing guide, Brian, picked us up right at our hotel in Galway. We drove for about 30 minutes to a little lough. Brian gave us all instruction on the bank and then took my husband and son out in a small boat. My husband caught a couple small brown trout. It was a nice time except the temperature was much colder than we thought it would be so make sure to have a warm coat and lots of layers to protect from the cold and wind.
