Came close to this lovely island as part of a boat trip on the killarney lakes. The ruins of a 12th century priory can clearly be seen and visits to land on the island can I believe, be made .

Great boat ride across the lake to get to inisfallen Island , such a mystical and magical feel to it as well as beautiful scenery. You are left to walk around at your leisure to explore the ruined abbey on the Island and to walk around the undergrowth to see the wild flowers and the deer that swim across from... More

Went with Mor Active tours and kayaked out to this island...it is fantastic. The ruins are very nice and being able to watch the deer move about it incredible. We even watched a mother and fawn swim out to the island. A very enjoyable way to spend a few hours.

The history of the Island is amazing and its a great place to hike. St. Mary's Cathedral folds a special Mass on the island in June, we stumbled onto the Mass a few years ago and now plan our yearly trips to Ireland around the it.

You can get to the island by hiring a boat at Ross Castle. Our boat driver was Jason O'Sullivan and he was exceptionally knowledgeable regarding the lakes and the history of the island. Once on the island you can freely walk around the ruins, and explore the small island, which is inhabited by deer. This is an amazing place and... More

I made a boat trip out to this great location from the pier at Ross Castle and was accompanied by the boatman's dog. The island is so peaceful with the grass perfectly manicured by a sizeable herd of about 30 native deer. Worth a visit if you are in the area!

We kayaked out to this Island, which added to the experience. Once we arrived we had a tour of the location and learned of the monks that had once lived there. Then the Sika Deer showed up and that was an amazing experience as you can get very close to them to take pictures or to admire them grazing and... More

Decided to take a motor boat over to the island from Ross Castle. Mike was driving the boat. He was very informative. The island is very historical and tranquil. It is exceptionally beautiful! I would definitely recommend a visit.

We took a 10 euro each person roundtrip boat ride from the castle shore over to the island. The guy waits for you and gives you 45 minutes to explore. We saw a family of deer and took the trails to see an abandoned abbey. It was a beautiful day, so this was a nice exploration.
