The Meeting of the Waters sounds like something out of Lord of the Rings – and I wouldn’t have been surprised to see a hobbit appear during the very (and I mean very) long walk from the small roadside car park to our destination.
First of all, we walked for hours thinking there was a way to walk there from the park. Only way to, was to walk on the street. When we got to the beginning off the walk, it said it would be a 15 minute walk....More
I would recommend to take a drive around the Mountains and rent a boat to sail around the three Lakes -Lough Leane, Muckross Lake (also called Middle Lake) and Upper Lake. They are so calm and offer the spectacular views around the lakes.
We passed the meetings and under the bridge on the Gap of Dunloe tour. It is a beautiful place with some great views and history. Not a must see place but if you have the extra time it will add to your experience.
