If you are driving from Muckross House to Ladies' View and Moll's Gap and beyond, you will travel this road and go through the narrow tunnel. Be very careful and don't feel forced to drive the posted speed limit. You can pull over and let tailgaters pass. Be aware that if there is a bend in the road you are... More

Very impressive views from start to finish. It was not scary for it is not a road that gets a lot of traffic.

The best about the Old Kenmare Road (and that's not a pic of it - the one with the tunnel, because that's the current and in use road!) is that you can make it a short on (say, 40 min up to the say, where you leave the road for Torc 'mountain' or you can walk all the way to... More

This road requires caution, which is difficult at times considering the beauty that lies all around. Well worth a drive on this road to see what Kerry has to offer.

Ive been up this road both ways on bike, foot, car and van. Never fails to impress. Sunny, raining, snowing, there will always be a beauty in this most treasured meander. Road surface keeps improving too, and best of all, it leads to my beautiful County Cork. Simply a must see.

Just back from Killarney and we walked part of the Old Kenmare Road. Unfortunately we couldn't do the whole trip to Kenmare because of the bus strike. We parked at Torque Waterfall. We also thought of getting a taxi but because the main road was closed it would have cost about €70 as we would have had to take a... More

My Husband and I took a trip by car on the old Kenmare road while on a short visit to killarney. It was fantastic. The road is quite narrow so you have to take your time. It is very scenic part of Kerry. It was not very busy at this time of year with tourists so we were lucky. The... More

This trip around the peninsula to Sneem through the black valley and onto Kenmare is a dream trip The lakes and mountain scenery is spectacular and uplifting and there are plenty viewing points and walks on the route .As it was February we hadn't much traffic to contend with so it was a beautiful trip.
