The reason we stopped at Kilkenny was to visit the castle, and we were not disappointed. We enjoyed many more sights in the city but the castle drew us there. It met the image in my head of what an Irish castle should look like....More

The visit doesn't take long but it's interesting. Also, take a walk around the park it's quite nice. There's also a couple guides that give information.

Brillant place to visit with historic history uzing out of the walls of the castle. Great staff & very enjoyable visit. Lovely grounds around the castle. Could emagine how kings lived years ago

Found the castle really interesting and engaging - lots of information to read and so much history to learn about. Good video at the beginning which explains everything about the structure of the castle and the family history. There's a contemporary art gallery downstairs too...More
