While visiting the Frank McCourt Museum, we learned that this pub was basically around the corner from the museum so we decided to go check it out. This of course is the pub that Frank took his first pint. We were there around the lunch hour and the place was packed. So packed, my husband decided we'd just have a... More

We had lunch in South's yet once again. There is a great atmosphere here. This pub is family run and what a great difference this makes. Our lunch was delightful; fresh tasty and plenty. I went for the steak which was freshly cooked as were the delightful fried onions that went with it. The vegetables were tasty; the pepper sauce... More

We popped in here today (02 Jan) in the hope that they were doing food as most places weren't due to the bank holiday. The barman explained that they were just doing toasties which was perfect. He couldn't have been friendlier and was very accommodating. It was our last stop before going back to London and we were so annoyed... More

The lady at the Frank McCourt Museum told us where this pub was and as it was on our way back to the laundrette we called in for morning tea. From the outside it looks quite small but opens up when you get inside and is a lovely pub to look around in. We had coffee and scones which were... More

I've been a customer of the above off and on for a number of years.Lately I joined my friends here for breakfast.I must say it ticked all the boxes.Even though I only had tea along with their freshly baked scones (which were delicious). The pub is kept to a very high standard throughout and the staff are courteous and pleasant. It is... We have visited this Pub on many occasions and it has become one of our favourites when visiting Limerick. From the beautiful interior right through to the most pleasant bar staff you could hope to meet South's has it all. Customers are of a more senior age group and contain some amazing characters. Bright airy and pleasant it is definitely... More

I went for lunch & was disappointed to see that it was Carvery. I had to stay as I was in company. My colleague was served by an Older Irish lady and got a nice size portion. I was served by another person and I only wanted one type of vegetables, no potatoes & just a few chips. All I... More

Popped in for a Guiness, as you must, and was met with friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. The building itself is very impressive giving a sense of times long gone. We didn't have time to stay for lunch, but the food smelled and looked great. Given the number of local workers that turned up to sample it,... More
