I took 2 young children age 3 and 6 to millmount. The 6 year old absolutely loved it, he's very interested in history though. The 3 year old had no interest. Visits are by guided tour. We had a really nice lady show us around. She took us up to the tower first and showed a very eager boy around... More

I really enjoyed seeing the museum and tower. The staff were very friendly and helpful and quite funny too. The old tapestries were something special.

The staff was very helpful and took their time to show us around the Millmount Tower. The museum itself is really good, it has a basement floor with old utensils and each room tells a different part of Drogheda's history. I highly recommend a visit to it. On a bright day the views from the Tower are amazing!

Please do yourself a favor do not leave this region without paying a visit to Millmount Fort in Drogheda. Very instructive, and going way back centuries. From the top of the fortification, you will have a breathtaking view of the entire valley of the Boyne and maybe the coast as well since Drogheda is a port

Joan & Julian talked us through some of the things in this muesum. Our tour with their guidance was fabulous. I thoroughly recommend for your visit to Drogheda. Irish history is facinating and we could have stayed longer.

Fabulous tour and information on the Millmount and the major events that have taken place in Drogheda.over the years including facts about the Viking boat found in the Boyne river within sight of the Millmount, the attack and subsequent slaughter by Cromwell and the Battle of the Boyne to name but a few. Our guide walked us around the tower... More

A group of 40 of us descended on Mortello Tower - wonderful views from the top floor. Margaret tried to fit in so much in a short time-really informative and interesting. The memorabilia in both the tower and Museum brought us back in time-to view 200yr old banners in almost perfect condition was a pleasure. All this is located on... More

The views from the martello tower are superb and you really get a feeling for why Drogheda was such a strategic site in far-away times. Our guide, Margaret (I think) was so enthusiastic about her city and gave us a fascinating insight into its past. Wish we'd gone to this tower and its museum first as it helped us understand... This was my second visit to Millmount Museum. My first was a few years ago. The museum consists of 3 floors full of artifacts, historical photos and documented community stories about times past. Most interesting especially for those who grew up in Drogheda. Our guide Bruno, I can not praise enough. He was brilliant, very knowledgeable and made our tour... More

This was a lovely way to spend 2 hours on a sunny afternoon in Drogheda. Taking in the view from the top of the tower was a great way to get my bearings in a town I had yet to explore. Kevin is a great historian with heaps of book recommendations- he should write his own!
