County Sligo was our first stop on a 7 course tour of Ireland. County Sligo is a classic seaside links course with some great vistas. The course moves up and down through the dunes and as always in Ireland, the weather plays a large role. When we were there we had sun, wind, rain. . . and that was only... More

We played on a calm afternoon with intermittent rain. The greens were top dressed and slowish and some work was being done at the third. Some lovely natural holes with great views around the turn and lived the long holes with the burn causing strategic issues Felt I could not say excellent as in places the condition of the course... Quintessential links course. Fun and tough and in pretty good shape coming out of winter. But the friendly and engaged staff from check-in to the bar sealed the deal for Co. Sligo.

The barman was extremely friendly and very welcoming. Drinks were good. We would definitely call in the next time we were in Rosses Point.

County Sligo Golf course at Rosses Point is one of the top rated links courses in Ireland. Home to the West of Ireland annually. This is links golf as it should be. Excellent clubhouse facilities, bar, restaurant and changing facilities, with well stocked pro-shop.

The course is a great introduction to links golf. You can stray on a few holes but still find your ball. In good shape, they are adding some length by extending or repositioning greens. Golf shop staff friendly and helpful. Restaurant staff, an experienced gentleman, is one of the most efficient and friendly in Ireland. Great value!

While there are no bad links courses in Ireland, this one just didn't charm us as much as some others. There are quite a few blind, uphill approach shots, and uphill drives (e.g. # 18, which also involves a long carry with penal rough awaiting a mistake). This is all probably OK for the members, who know where the greens... More

Went with a group of golfers who played as I walked with them taking photos. The scenery is beautiful all around the course. The golfers played atrociously and the weather was awful but we had a wonderful day. Difficult course but lovely club house.

Great course, great history, great weather! The course was built in 1894 and it is a true links course with plenty of challenges as well as opportunities. The staff was very accommodating making arrangements for 2 caddies (1 for each group). We were fortunate to get the current course record holder as our caddie. David knew the course and gave...
