A bit disappointed, no guided tours in winter and there is not that much to see. But it's a nice walk. Just don't expect to go inside any tumbs there.

Wear good walking shoes and join the group tour. The tour guide is very knowledgeable about ancient tribes of the Sligo area. There is an indoor museum and restrooms available. Take advantage of the restroom before heading to Knocknarea to see Queen Mauve's tomb.

Unbelievable site that is available to explore. Knowledgeable staff will answer all of the questions and you have a map of the site making it easy to enjoy.

Wasn't sure whether to rate this poor or average. Erred on the side of 'poor' based on the likelihood of wanting to visit it again, visiting experience and quality of other attractions we had experienced. Carrowmore is a cluster of 30 visible megalithic tombs in...More

We came on this by chance, it turned out to be the kids highlight in Sligo, it might not be for everyone but it is a great way to find out about the history and literature of the area.

We started at the visitor center speaking with a lovely person from France who has lived in Ireland for many years. We walked through the fields looking at the standing stone, dolmens and cairns. It is hard to imagine the amount of work it must...More

We found this site quite boring, the brochures do not give you enough information for each pile of stones !

what tour guide? Tour guides at Carrowmore are all employees of the Office of Public Works and most of them have a degree in archaeology, history or heritage.
