Beautiful Benbulben
Sep 2021 • Friends
This is such a must see when in Sligo and I was not disappointed . Didn't have time to climb but got to take some lovely photographs. Also seen it from Yeats grave as was his final request. Spectacular sight.

Benbulben Forest Walk
Aug 2021
We completed the Benbulben Forest walk and while initially we tought we were going to go up the mountain, we quickly discovered this was 'just' a forest walk. Beautiful views and lovely 6+km walk and overall great day. We will have to plan better to get to the top next time, Sligo has so much to offer this will be the first of many trips to the county, loved it.

Fantastic hike with stunning views!
Jun 2021
The GPS took us directly to Lucks bridge and parked on the small space available. It can only accommodate around 8 cars. We walked up the road to the second smaller bridge where the road becomes a dirt track. There is no signage to tell you which track to take for the hike up the gully side so we took the straight track until it ends and then continued over the bog tracks. The soft boggy part is short so find the best way around it. The track on the left side of the gully will be visible and it’s a moderate gradual climb up. Don’t forget to stop and enjoy the view as you go along. And the sheep along the way. Once you reach the top, you can continue to the other end for more spectacular views. Look out for holes and dips and it can be very windy in some parts. The walk along the top will take around 30 minutes. You will get wonderful views of Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo. Highly recommended. No bathroom facilities available.

Great climb
Apr 2021
Benbulbin is one of the most distinct and iconic mountains in Ireland. There are different ways to climb it but in our case we parked at Luke’s Bridge and followed the path from the bridge to the side of the mountain before climbing up the steep grassy side of the mountain.

It took less than an hour to reach the summit trig point. The top itself is like a big grassy field but the views for around the edges are spectacular and definitely worth the effort of the climb up.

Note: for a longer hike you can go around the mountain top as far as Benwisken and then loop back to Luke’s Bridge. However, this is a more challenging hike and takes between 5 and 6 hours.

Windy, but great views.
Aug 2020
Went up after reviewing Sligo Walks website - how impressive Benbulben was. Most scenic part of the region. We did the Benbulben Forest Walk which brings you under the mountain. Really beautiful walk but was very windy the day we visited (end of a storm). Car park is very small, but we visited mid week so no issues. Check out my photos.

Most beautiful place in Ireland
Aug 2020 • Friends
Love Benbulben. Most scenic part of Ireland in my opinion so this visit to Sligo. I did the Benbulben Forest Walk which brings you under the mountain. Really beautiful walk but ended up longer than we thought. You get to the car park for walk by going out the road by towards Bundoran direction and you will see big sign on left for Bundoran Forest Walk.

To walk actual mountain itself you take Luke’s Bridge turn from what I could gather.

10/10. Must see

This is one of the most scenic mountain tops in Ireland. If you are lucky with the weather, jackpot! There are several trails around this mountain.

Beautiful walk & scenery
Jul 2020 • Family
I walked this with 4 kids aged 10-13. Easy terrain. Signposted red or blue trail. Small carpark, and rd up to it extremely busy & lacking space due to people parking on rd. When red trail finishes, no sign back through forest to return to car park. We made the mistake of following blue trail back onto Sligo rd...very dangerous. Sligo co co are in the process of sorting signage, which is good. Stunning scenery. Well worth a trip. An hr, well spent.

Wonderful Landscape
May 2019
The spectacular landscape and the view of the mountain can be said as one of the highlight in Sligo. We didn't climb up, just took some pictures of the scenery around but wish to go up in the next visit.
