The cathedral is conveniently located downtown and, unfortunately, charges for parking. If you come mid day there will be plenty of spaces. The building itself is quite impressive.

Sligo Cathedral is worth a stop...prayerful, colorful, spacious and centrally located for some midday peace or 2 hour adoration..

While driving through Ireland we came across this lovely old cathedra opened in 1874. It is well maintained and cared for and beautifully decorated inside. It felt a very peaceful place.

Lovely in a much smaller way; but all the same gorgeous and spiritual features of the magnificent cathedrals of Ireland and the U.K. Well worth ones time to see and experience.
