This is a stunningly well-preserved Neolithic court tomb near Cliffoney. The oval court surrounding the burial chambers was used for rituals. Impressive to walk through and take a thorough look at. It is free to visit and absolutely uncrowded, so you can take your time.

We stopped at Creevykeel as well were driving out of town the other day. It is just off the highway in a cow pasture. It was interesting to compare to Carrowmore.

I love visiting sites/ places that aren't overcrowded and authentic. I usually feel let down when I find out something has been rebuilt or restored. The history behind this site is interesting , to say the least. A must visit.

This is another passage tomb site that cannot be missed. It is uncrowded. The ruins are truly magnificent. I enjoy imagining how ancient people came up with the design and implemented the construction.

What a delight! I had so hoped to see some of these ancient sites on our trip and this one just unassumingly appeared. Beautifully preserved and peaceful. There is an information plaque that explains some of the history of the place. Definitely worth the stop....More

Have a look at the photographs, the tombs are open, not underground, you walk among the large stones.
