I visited here to see Steve Hackett in October 2021. The inside of the Hall is unique and obviously very well looked after. It is very impressive to see. The acoustics and stage views were also really good too. As usual with an older venue, toilet capacity at a larger gig is always slightly below what it could be.

I came here for the first time with a couple of work colleagues to see the musical Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. The staff were all really friendly and helpful, and the building was spectacular. Fantastic architecture.
We went to buy some drinks and the queue was really long so it took a good while. Luckily, the start of the show was postponed so we didn't miss out.
At the interval, the queue for the toilets was massive, but it went down surprisingly quickly as there were many cubicles available. Lovely stuff.
The show itself was enjoyable and we had a good view of the stage from the Grand Circle. I would love to come again to the theatre to see another show.
Only thing - sometimes the microphone quality when the cast were singing wasn't great and I couldn't quite hear them. I don't know if that was more to do with the show itself than the theatre though, so who am I to complain?

It was our first visit to Harrogate and the Russel Watson concert was, as always, first class. The Royal Hall Theatre was impressive. One member of the backing choir was off pitch but otherwise we enjoyed a great evening.

Had a visit followed by a guided tour of this historic venue with excellant restoration and top class volunteer guides. I had been employed for a decade mid eighties to mid nineties as Catering manager at HIC with my office in the Royal Hall I was pleased to see it's restored state and recall its era of hidden subdivision to provide facilities for the conference halls and functions. My old office a loo for the men! Will visit again. If attending a concert etc take a tour when possible plus give a contribution however small for this good cause.Survived ONLY by persistent dedicated supporters.

This is a lovely venue, but in the midst of rising COVID cases just hasn’t got it’s act together. Our tickets were booked pre pandemic so this Rumours of Fleetwood Mac concert had been delayed. It was booked through the Harrogate Theatre group’s own website.

A day before the gig we were treated to a reminder that no one with a bag bigger than A4 would be admitted. We wondered how social distancing would be managed, but nothing about that anywhere.

On arrival we were told we had to prove vaccination. Fortunately my wife and I had the NHS App, but because there was no prior warning, my brother and sister in law couldn’t prove it. BUT THEY LET THEM IN ANYWAY!! How many people got in that hadn’t been vaccinated, this way of checking is ineffective. Everyone had their temperature taken, but we all know that many carriers are symptomless.

Inside a significant number of people were not wearing masks. Some seem to strut about without masks as a badge of honour. The seating in the enclosed poorly ventilated hall was not socially distanced at all. It seemed to us that the Royal Hall had created perfect conditions for a super spreader event, especially when you consider that many would sing along to the songs. I attended an open air concert a few days ago that had better social distancing provisions than this.

We did not stay for the concert.

With so much uncertainty over the infection rate and vaccine effectiveness we deserve better than this. The theatre and entertainments sector bemoans the effect of the pandemic, and us quick to encourage patrons back to shows. But Harrogate Theatres, you need to look after your visitors better than this.

Attended recently. Such a superb venue, beautifully restored. Good seating, no obstructing pillars, bars if needed. Great place.

We have recently been to two tribute music shows here and the venue definitely adds to the atmosphere. One minor negative point is the bar arrangement at the sides of the auditorium, but this venue really is a great asset for Harrogate, and it is pleasing to see it being well used. Our seats were in the Dress Circle area and we were able to have a good view of the stage. Well worth a visit should your choice of entertainment be available at the Royal Hall.

I visited here on 10th February. A wonderful theatre in Victorian splendour.
Very clean and tidy & the view from the upper circle was excellent.

The only downside, the seats get a little bum numbing after a while.

What a superb venue we sat in the dress circle to see the tribute show to QUEEN ( radio ga ga ) a 2 hour show which was start to finish superb and could feel the circle bouncing in line with the atmosphere . If you see a show you fancy then this is a place to see it .
