Nice to stroll through this Victorian well-laid out park even though, at this time of year, there is not a great deal of colour to look for. And, it was bound to be wet underfoot but only a few minutes from the central shops ...

Great for a gentle stroll, even on a chilly day in January. Very close to the city centre. Just be aware that the park is full of springs some of which can be a bit smelly. Not dirty just the H2S in the water.

Quite a nice walk around the park and if you wish to stretch your legs further through the Woodland to RHS Harlow Carr.

We were pointed to the gardens by a very helpful member of the spa museum to see the range of wells that were once in operation. Sadly the tea room was closed, but the walk was pleasant! Look out for the man hole covers indicating the old wells!

We walked from Harlow Carr through Valley gardens. What a treat. The covered veranda was adorned with lights and a lovely place for a quiet sit, even when raining.

We came across Valley Gardens on a walk around Harrogate. Just minutes from the centre, it’s well worth the visit. It’s a fabulous bit of outdoor space, which is completely free to visit. As I went during autumn, there weren’t the colourful flowers which there would be in summer, but it was very pretty nonetheless. The Japanese garden was definitely my favourite part, it’s absolutely beautiful.
The gardens are clearly well maintained. There’s even a children play area and public toilets.
Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Really nice gardens. Large area to walk and enjoy the fresh air. Plenty of variety and colour in planting and buildings.
