Royal Crown Derby is one of the original companies founded in the 18th Century that is still producing fine bone china in Derbyshire, England today. The company is the most distinguished, authentic Made in England manufacturer supplying English fine bone china tableware, giftware and collectables since 1750

The present factory was established in 1878, but the business traces its origins to the original factory which was set up in Nottingham Road in about 1750. Queen Victoria granted permission to include the title "Royal" in the company name in 1890.

The current site on Osmaston Road, Derby stands on a four and half acre site, employing approximately 200 staff.

The Royal Crown Derby Visitor Centre offers a customer experience whether visiting the 1750 Tea Room, Museum, viewing the latest exhibition arranged by our in-house Museum Curator, taking a factory tour to see our first class products being made by hand or purchasing from the onsite retail shop.

Please note the opening times refer to the retail shop only and the 1750 Tea Room is open Tuesday to Friday.

Factory Tours are available 11am & 1.30pm Tuesday to Thursday and 11am only on Fridays.

Having lived in Derby all my life finding this gem on our doorstep was great. The tour was informative and interesting. Jay the tour guide gave us lots of information and history on our way round. The factory is a place of work and different processes are ongoing, so a second visit for us ( several years later) revealed different... More

Well worth a visit - fabulous china, and some seconds at a very reasonable price, too. It is so nice to have 'Tea' in the cafeteria, and to drink from fine bone china!

It is well worth visiting this attraction. It has a great little factory shop where you can buy the best quality china at reasonable prices. Suggest you book a tour of factory to combine with your visit to factory shop. You will be amazed at the skill of the artists who decorate various items in front of you. They will... More

Found some lovely undecorated plates and dishes in the shop-purchased elaborate white planter to put early bulbs in.Cafe was empty and and choices a bit dull-pre packed muffins and biscuits but they did say a revamp happening soon and food would be more varied and fresher.

Royal Crown Derby is some of the best China porcelain money can buy. The quality is second to none and the designs are exquisite. It is well worth making the effort to visit this little shop and whilst you are at it, organise a tour of the factory.

We had a good visit. Can tour the factory and see how the China is made. There is also a restaurant and a small museum as well as the factory shop. They have discontinued lines you can buy. But it is expensive.

Visited Crown Derby in a group of 18. Our tour guide was Jay, who gave us an excellent guided tour of a working factory. It is fascinating to see the concentration, skill and dedication in the factory - the china is at the top end and expensive, but you begin to understand why! Also had a light lunch in the... More

This is something we should have done years ago- thank goodness we got round to a visit and the factory tour. Museum etc is a must if you have Crown Derby, and shop has a tempting array of this high quality items. Factory tour at 1.30 is £4.50 for concessions and is one of the best value tours we have...
