A local gem with lots to see. This place deserves a lot more custom. It is a lot more interesting than some properties held by the large national organisations.

Probably one of the best "hidden" gems in the country , a small tudor hall on the edge of a sixties/seventies housing estate - very close to the railway station. Never has many visitors and parking is really limited with entry compleatly free thanks to...More

Well worth a visit to this site. There is so much history in this building that was created in stages from the 1500s. Lord Leverhulme, who gave it to the people of Bolton, collected a lot of objects and furniture relating to the age of...More

When we arrived, we were greeted by a cachophany of children's voices, the noise followed us around the building. We didn't see any staff and so assumed that they were tied up with the school group. The building is incredible, so many odd rooms and...More

Myself and my partner like to come for a wander round every so often, I love this building and it has such a lovely vibe to it. You can just imagine Samuel Crompton sat in the observation room designing his spinning mule. Once I was...More

This is a wonderful 16th to 18th century house with Tudor extensions and very interesting historical facts about the family that lived there and who also created the spinning wheel. The house is set back mostly in the 16th century with all the original furniture...More
