The estate grounds are beautiful but the drive there and back along country roads only just wide enough for one car to travel along. Would love to visit again but the stress of the tight long roads are so stressful just prey you don’t come face to face with oncoming traffic because one of you will have to back up quite a way to pass each other.

I have visited 3 or 4 times before, because I planted some trees here through the Woodland Trust in memory of my late husband. However, this time the walking was quite unpleasant and very difficult for my elderly mother to manage. The marked paths were extremely muddy and churned up (we thought perhaps it is a Park Run route now because there were so many footprints?) and the path starting immediately from the car park was covered in dog faeces despite signs telling dog owners to pick it up. Also there were several groups walking very out of control dogs who were jumping up at people, which scared my nephew. Something needs to be done to improve the condition of the paths in wet weather and to restrict dogs so that walkers can enjoy the beautiful woods again.

We live in Maidstone and had absolutely no idea this place was so close. We had a little trouble finding church road as the postcode didn’t take us directly to the car park but it was worth the little extra driving around to find it. The trail was easy to follow as there were plenty of signs to guide us round and it was nice being able to do a circular route. We took our Labrador and she had the most wonderful time running between the trees, finding sticks and playing fetch in the fields. Highly recommended walk.

We have just had a wonderful walk on the Hucking Estate, but found the lack of signage on the North Downs route very annoying. We found ourselves on the edge of the estate at a crossroads with three roads and no signage to the Woodlands Trust Car Park. I feel the signage could be improved for future walkers.

The lack of signs in the woods and the lack of landmark details on the plan on entry to the site made this a nightmare to navigate. Be prepared to get very lost! Lots of junctions with no signs and those that were there were very misleading and confusing .The trails look so similar with high trees each side it was impossible to see where you were.. This site definitely needs clear colour coded sineage for the different routes.
