Lovely quiet woods with lots to paths to explore and is great for dog walking. The woods are maintained by volunteers and people are asked to put £1 in an honesty box for parking to help with upkeep.

We went here for the first time in August. There is plenty of parking and an honest box for a £1 parking fee which we did pay. There are a number of pathways through the wooded country park area which do not take long to walk around. We then exited by one of the gates and extended our walk in the surrounding countryside.

We walk the dog here pretty much once a week, she loves it, such a simple walk that is peaceful. Not too busy and the kids like it too so a win-win.

The cold crisp day was perfect for a walk. The autumn-coloured trees were sensational. It was quiet and peaceful, just like others have said. From the information on websites I was expecting it to be poorly maintained, but the paths, boardwalks and benches were all in very good condition. Well worth the pound in the honesty box. The pub (the King's Head) is a very short walk from the path leading out from the corner of the park, and very dog- and people-friendly, with good beer.
