Visited yesterday as family member was visiting from Austria. We arrived early afternoon and was greeted by a member of staff who gave us some information on the different exhibits that we could find. There were displays on pottery and glass, the history of Preston, historical clothing, fine artworks and the Martin Creed exhibition. All of the rooms were worthy... More

This is a great place to come on a rainy day, has something for everyone. The library, gift shop and cafe on the ground floor, the museum of Preston history on the second and then the art gallery and costume exhibition on the third. There are always regular exhibitions. This is an absolutely stunning building to look at and be... More

Brief visit this time have been to the Harris on previous occasions. I called in to see the Martin Creed exhibition which I found thought provoking. A quick look at the art gallery and costumes. The interior of the Harris is beautiful and so much to see. Will visit again when in the area.

I really like the architecture of this building. It's free entry, so it's worth a visit even if it's just to pass some time. It shows some interesting information about Preston's cultural and working history. There is usually good exhibitions and a small but nice art gallery.

Excellent collection of early glass and pottery. Some good seascapes too, but current Martin Creed exhibition worthy of an 'Emperor's New Clothes' award.

I stopped into the museum in hopes of stealing some WiFi, but I stayed there because it had some nice history about Lancashire and Preston. The art portion was small, but I remember there being A LOT of porcelain when I visited. They have a small cafe area and also some sort of computer lab.

I spent a very, pleasant two hours in this museum on a wet Saturday and what a revelation. Brilliant displays, particularly of the glass items and lots of interesting artefacts and pictures from over the ages. All extremely well presented.

A collection of varied and many important works of art which are really worth viewing. The museum floor has also been rearranged showing many local artifacts and the history of cotton in Preston. Many live events now happening, music, workshops and a maker space, much for children and a cafe.

The Harris is fast becoming one of my favourite places to encounter contemporary art in the North West of England! Over the last few years the quality of exhibitions has rocketed. It is well worth setting a day aside in order to fall in love with this unique gallery and museums.
