I like cathedrals. I'm not religious but I do appreciate the architecture, the care that goes into them and the way they often record the history of their area. Manchester Cathedral isn't the biggest one but it is very beautiful. The outside gargoyles are beautifully...More

Walked around inside the building for 30 minutes as the only visitor. A couple of security guards, a couple of guys assessing the renovation works ands two priests holding service without a flock. Is this because the tower is wrapped up? Strange but worth a...More

Well, entry is free so that's a good thing. The Cathedral lacks Soul, I strongly felt. I could not put my finger on quite why, a distinct lack of Pews and horrible folding school chairs perhaps, or maybe a focus on the £2.2 Million spent...More

One of the most incredible interiors in Manchester. The brand new organ is a sight to behold, a must see (& hear).

They were doing repairs while we were here so the tower was impossible to see. The windows inside were lovely and there was a nice photo exhibit showing at the time. Well worth a visit. There is no charge, though they welcome donations

The cathedral was well sign-posted and easy to get to. The atmostphere was awe inspiring and well worth a visit. Not particularly religious but love looking at Cathedrals and always light a candle !!!

This is one of the smaller cathedrals I have visited. It is still a nice building but regretably alot of building work going on which decries the splendour of the building.

This is a very interesting place to visit. We were warmly greeted by the Canon and were encouraged to visit as much of the cathedral as possible. The cathedral has a wealth of history, especially about local Manchester regiments, Royal visitors, etc. This is a...More

We were nearby so we decided we would visit. It is very nice inside with a lot of history. It's very small for a cathedral compared to the other ones I have been into. Would be better to visit after the building work is finished...More

Thank you for your query. It is a Church of England Cathedral with an exciting and radical history as a church dating back centuries. We welcome visitors of all faiths and none. We also have very friendly Cathedral Guides in... More
