If you like modern art and special exhibitions, this is the place for you. It's worth a visit just to eat in the amazing restaurant ehich projects into the heart of Whtiworth Park.

Well worth the walk from the city centre (20 minutes or so) and an oasis in the drab and depressing landscape of Manchester. Wonderfully creative exhibition on dementia and a terrific showing of the textiles of Barbara Brown.

see Wikipedia, but the museum is in Whitworth park, and one of the benefactors was Joseph Whitworth f This tells you all. f

The Greenheys car park, just off Denmark Road, barely two blocks from the Whitworth, is lovely. £1/hour, with a parking attendant.
