I enjoyed the three hours or so I spent looking at the exhibits... they are well displayed, with interesting articles about them nearby. Well worth a visit; I walked from Piccadilly Gardens, although the buses are free!

This is worth the walk as it offers an alternative to main stream art which can be seen in the Manchester Art Gallery or Lowry. The rooms are spacious and light and the Andy Warhol exhibition was brilliantly curated. There are plenty of staff around...More

Whitworth Art Gallery is situated between The University of Manchester and the famous Curry Mile. The installations and exhibitions change from time to time, and the paintings are from well known artists, most recently Andy Warhol. The restaurant is an interesting addition, overlooking Whitworth park.

The Greenheys car park, just off Denmark Road, barely two blocks from the Whitworth, is lovely. £1/hour, with a parking attendant.
