Albert Square is a great place to hang out with friends or solo on a sunny afternoon. It is a peaceful place in the middle of busy Manchester. Right now it is under construction so most of it is blocked off as work is underway.

The centre of Manchester and usually the scene of civic events. Holds a huge number of people on these events. The site of the first Christmas markets and now well established from mid November to mid December. Good place to pick up a black cab....More

Wonderful to walk around Albert Square, see the statue of Prince Albert, Gladstone and others, and to view the lovely fountains, take time out to sit on one of the many seats watching the world go by. A great city!

As a tourist in the city for just a long afternoon before catching the train back to the Radisson Blu at Manchester airport we just strolled thru the central city. It was a beautiful day and got even better when we came upon Albert Square....More

Stopped here for a few minutes, we both enjoyed looking at the statues and the architecture, very nice quiet place only negative was the presence of people Badgering you with flyers

This really is the jewel of Manchester. It is dominated by the beautiful gothic Town Hall and surrounded by trendy bars and restraunts. The Queen Victoria Diamond Jubilee Fountain really is a world class monument. No wonder this is the location for the Christmas Markets...More

No, from opening at the end of November. The market is open every day until the end.
